Propecia Lawsuit Filed Over Sexual Side Effects & Peyronie’s Disease
By Andrea Gressman
According to a new Propecia lawsuit filed recently, Propecia is responsible for the plaintiff’s development of sexual dysfunction and Peyronie’s disease. Peyronie’s disease is a condition affecting the penis due to fibrous scar tissue, which causes the penis to curve during an erection. This disorder is fairly uncommon. The Propecia lawsuit plaintiff is seeking compensation based on the following claims:
* Breech of implied and expressed warranties
* Negligence
* Strict liability
* As well as others
In the Propecia lawsuit, the plaintiff claims that he started taking the male pattern baldness medication in 1998 when he was 46 years of age. He finally stopped taking Propecia in 2011. His diagnosis of Propecia sexual dysfunction, in addition to the Peyronie’s disease, came in 2005.
The new Propecia lawsuit was filed in the Eastern District of New York in Brooklyn and it has joined the Propecia lawsuit MDL. The MDL was established to accommodate a large number of Propecia lawsuits with the same or similar claims. These Propecia lawsuits consistently claim that Propecia has caused them to suffer from serious, long-term, and even permanent damage as a result of taking the drug.
These Propecia lawsuits have been filed against Merck & Co. They have all alleged the drug manufacturer was negligent in selling Propecia and that this negligence caused users to suffer from a number of Propecia side effects. It has also been a common claim that the side effects last even after the Propecia taker stops taking the medication.
History of Propecia and the Warning Label Update to Reflect Potential Side Effects
The FDA originally approved Propecia in 1992. It was placed on the market to treat male pattern baldness. It was marketed under the name Proscar at that time and came in the form of a 5-milligram tablet. Propecia made its debut on the market in 1997 when the FDA provided its approval as a 1-milligram tablet.
It has been reported that over 1 million men in America have taken Propecia since its original release in 1997. It was not until 2008 that Merck finally changed the warning label and made mention of the many sexual side effects that countless men were experiencing as a result of taking the medication.

I was prescribed Propecia years ago but recently prescribed metropro Lal and two weeks later diagnosed with Peyronie’s disease please help me if you can
I hope everyone that has had issues with Propecia report it to the FDA so they can start documenting cases. I contacted them and basically said in my email. “I wish they would take a closer look at Propecia, because it had ruined my life…..and if they wanted to hear my story I’d email it to them.” They sent a very nice and understand email back and wanted to hear more…..I think more people should email them.
