Actos Bladder Tumor Lawsuit Easier to Join

By Scott Hardy

Actos pillsThe United States District Court in Louisiana has made it easier than ever for patients who took Actos to file a lawsuit against Takeda Pharmaceuticals. Hundreds of lawsuits have been filed against Takeda Pharmaceuticals alleging that their type 2 diabetes treatment drug Actos (pioglitazone) causes bladder tumors, bladder cancer, edema and even congestive heart failure. This new order by Judge Rebecca Doherty makes filing an Actos bladder cancer lawsuit much easier.
Judge Doherty signed a direct-filing order for lawsuits that want to join the multidistrict litigation (MDL) against Takede Pharmaceuticals. What does that mean? The multidistrict litigation lets all of the affected Actos users work together so they are all essentially covered under one lawsuit (similar to a class action.) Unlike an Actos class action lawsuit, where the payout per participant may be small, an award from the Actos multidistrcit litigation could amount to tens or hundreds of thousands of dollars per litigant. It could even be in the million dollar range if the plaintiff’s death was tied back to taking Actos and developing bladder cancer or another severe side effect. An experienced Actos attorney will be able to help determine what financial awards may be possible based on the severity of the injury and required treatment due to taking Actos.
As of March 12th, 2012, there were 196 cases in the Actos (pioglitazone) MDL under the honarable Ms. Doherty’s purview. This number has increased dramatically since March 12th and we expect it to double within the next two months as more people become aware of the ease of filing an Actos lawsuit if they developed a tumor, bladder cancer, congestive heart failure or edema. Symptoms of bladder cancer include tumors which could cause blood in the urine, painful or frequent urination, or straining during urination. In addition, other common symptoms of bladder cancer include fatigue, inconctinence, weith loss and bone pain or tenderness. If you are experiencing these symptoms you should see a doctor immediately.
If you would like more information about filing an Actos class action lawsuit, information about joining the Actos multidistrict litigation or would like to file an Actos bladder tumor personal injury lawsuit just go to the Actos Bladder Cancer Class Action Lawsuit Investigation page. There you can submit your information to Actos attorneys who are actively investigating all claims regarding tumors, heart attacks, congestive heart failure and other problems which may be attributed to taking Actos.
