The Navy Pier IMAX has agreed to pay as much as $455,000 in order to settle a class action lawsuit stemming over allegations that the theater violated the Fair and Accurate Credit Transactions Act (FACTA).
Lead plaintiff Scott Redman claims that the IMAX Chicago Theater printed more than the last five digits of customersโ credit or debit card numbers on receipts in violation of FACTA laws.
The IMAX FACTA class action lawsuit does not allege that Redman suffered from any actual monetary damage so in order to succeed in court he would need to prove that IMAX willfully violated FACTA requirements.
