True Religion Apparel Inc. has agreed to settle a class action lawsuit alleging it misrepresented the country of origin of some of its products. If you purchased a True Religion product in California that was labeled as “Made in USA” between Dec. 10, 2010 and July 31, 2015, you may be entitled to benefits from a class action settlement.
The proposed settlement will resolve a class action lawsuit that alleges True Religion claimed that some of its products were “Made in USA” even though they may have contained foreign-made component parts. According to the True Religion class action lawsuit, some True Religion-brand jeans with the “Made in USA” label are constructed with foreign-made buttons, thread, fabric, rivets, and/or zipper assembly. This alleged misrepresentation is a violation of a California law that prohibits products from being labeled as “Made in USA” if any foreign-made component is part of a product, even if the product is otherwise designed, produced and assembled in the United States.
True Religion denies that it knowingly or intentionally labeled and marketed its products in a false or misleading manner, but agreed to settle the class action lawsuit to avoid the cost and burden of continued litigation. The class action settlement was preliminarily approved on July 31, 2015.
UPDATE: According to the Settlement Website, Class Members who filed a valid and timely Claim Form were sent a letter or T-shirt on April 4, 2016. Those individuals who were eligible for pick-up have until July 5, 2016 to pick-up their True Religion T-shirt at a local retail or outlet store.
UPDATE: On Apr. 7, 2016, Top Class Actions readers started receiving T-shirts from the settlement.
Who’s Eligible
Class Members of the True Religion settlement include all California residents who made a purchase in California of a True Religion product containing foreign-made component parts based in substantial part on the “Made in USA” or “Made in the USA” label between Dec. 10, 2010 and July 31, 2015. The purchase must have been for non-commercial use in order to qualify for benefits from the class action settlement.
NOTE: You must be a current California resident to file a Claim Form.
Potential Award
One True Religion T-shirt (approximate value of $25 per shirt). Under the terms of the True Religion class action settlement, eligibility to receive a T-shirt will be determined on a first-come, first-served basis.
Class Members who purchased an allegedly mislabeled True Religion product at a retail store must pick up the T-shirt at their local True Religion retail or outlet store. If a Class Member is physically unable to pick up the T-shirt from a store, the Settlement Administrator may deem it appropriate to mail the T-shirt to the address provided on the Claim Form.
Proof of Purchase
N/A. Class Members may be asked to provide information about the date, location and type of purchase, as well as an assertion that they would not have purchased the product(s) if they had known they were not made entirely of components that were made in the USA.

Cannot believe they are getting away with this. The settlement is basically an F-you to all consumers/ claimants. A flimsy (see through) white t-shirt… stamped ~Made in China~.
