Audi CVT Class Action Lawsuit Settlement Gets Final OK

By Dominic Rivera

Audi CVT class action lawsuit settlementA federal judge has granted final approval to a class action lawsuit settlement with Volkswagen Group of America over alleged defects with the factory-installed Continuously Variable Transmissions (CVTs) installed in 2002-2006 model year Audi A4 and A6 vehicles.

The Audi CVT settlement, approved by U.S. District Judge Beverly Reid O’Connell, covers 64,000 vehicles and resolves a 2011 class action lawsuit alleging that Audi knowingly sold the Audi vehicles with defective transmissions and left car owners stuck with repair costs.

Despite agreeing to the class action settlement, Audi maintained its denial of the allegations, arguing that they “acted properly and in compliance with applicable laws and rules.” But they also believe that it is in the “best interests of their customers” that they settle this case.

You may be eligible for a cash reimbursement under the Audi CVT class action settlement if your CVT repairs occurred within 10 years or 100,000 miles from the date you bought or leased a 2002-06 model-year A4 or A6, whichever occurred first, and prior to June 19, 2013.

You must submit a Claim Form with supporting documents to the Settlement Administrator by November 18, 2013, in order to receive these class action settlement benefits. Detailed claim filing instructions can be found here in our earlier coverage of the Audi CVT settlement.

Even if you fail to meet the cash reimbursement criteria, you may still be eligible for free repairs or replacements of your Audi CVT, or a trade-in reimbursement for lost value.

Further details on the Audi CVT Class Action Lawsuit Settlement, as well as a Claim Form, can be found at www.CVTSettlement.com.

I submitted forms for reimbursement for Audi CVT repairs that was submitted in June and wondered if all of the forms were received and filled out correctly so I too would be eligible for reimbursement . I haven’t heard anything which concerns me.
