The Nelnet class action lawsuit accused the student loan servicer of illegally recording telephone calls without notifying the recipient, and asserted claims under California’s Invasion of Privacy Law. Nelnet denies any wrongdoing, but agreed to pay nearly $1.2 million to resolve the claims. An estimated 104,122 Class Members were eligible for benefits from the Nelnet class action settlement.

The Trader Joe’s class action lawsuit alleged the grocer falsely labeled several of its products as “100% Natural” even though they contained synthetic ingredients. Trader Joe’s denied the allegations but agreed to settle the class action lawsuit. The Trader Joe’s class action settlement was preliminarily approved in February, and received final approval over the summer.

Consumers who filed valid claims for the Trader Joe’s class action settlement were eligible to receive reimbursement for the allegedly mislabeled products they purchased. Class Members who submitted proof of purchase were entitled to full reimbursement for the products, while Class Members who did not provide proof of purchase could only claim benefits for up to 10 items.

Checks for the Trader Joe’s class action settlement were mailed Dec. 23.

The makers of Organix skin and hair care products agreed to pay more than $6 million to resolve allegations it falsely labeled its products as organic. Under the terms of the Organix class action settlement, Class Members who submitted valid claims were eligible to receive $4 for each Organix product they purchased, up to a maximum of $28.

Checks for the Organix class action settlement were mailed no later than Dec. 26.
