Wal-Mart Gas Card Class Action Lawsuit

A federal class action lawsuit in Florida claims Wal-Mart failed to honor gas discounts it promised to customers who used Wal-Mart gift cards for gasoline purchases.

Plaintiff Robin Campbell alleges in the Wal-Mart gas card class action lawsuit that she purchased Wal-Mart gift cards in March 2012 after seeing advertisements saying she could save 3 cents per gallon if she used the cards at the stores’ gas stations. According to Campbell, however, she was charged full price at least three times and was told by employees they could not reimburse her the advertised 3-cent discount.

Campbell is seeking to represent all Florida residents who, within the past four years, used a Wal-Mart gift card to purchase gasoline from a Murphy gas station in the state of Florida and who did not receive a discount on the purchase price.

If certified, the Wal-Mart gas discount class action lawsuit could cover thousands of Floridians. It is seeking restitution, damages, injunctive relief and more for violating the Florida Deceptive and Unfair Trade Practices Act.

The Wal-Mart Gas Discount Class Action Lawsuit case is Campbell v. Wal-Mart Stores Inc. et al., Case No. 13-03386CA01, Eleventh Judicial Circuit Court of Florida.
