xarelto xarelto bleeding xarelto lawsuitConsumer protection attorneys are actively seeking plaintiffs to bring Xarelto lawsuits against the pharmaceutical manufacturers, Bayer and Johnson & Johnson.

Recently attorneys have increased their advertising to reach patients who suffered from serious Xarelto problems.

A recent Xarelto lawsuit commercial is asking consumers “Have you or a loved one suffered from internal bleeding, pulmonary embolism, deep vein thrombosis, or even death after taking the prescription drug, Xarelto?”

According to the Silverstein Group, spending on Xarelto lawsuit commercials in 2014 alone jumped from $8,000 in June to $1.2 million in July.  Xarelto lawsuit commercials are an effective way to inform consumers about potential dangers associated with taking Xarelto.

What is Xarelto?

Xarelto, generically known as rivaroxaban, is a popular blood thinning medication.  The medication received FDA approval back in 2011 to help prevent blood clots in patients who recently had knee or hip replacement surgery.  Xarelto is also FDA approved to treat patients with atrial fibrillation who are at risk for developing blood clots or stroke.

Xarelto belongs to a new class of blood thinners.  These new blood thinners are known as thrombin inhibitors and work by preventing an essential component of blood clots from forming.

Xarelto is often advertised as superior to more traditional blood thinners like Warfarin.  According to advertising, unlike users taking warfarin, Xarelto patients do not need to follow strict dietary guidelines nor undergo constant blood monitoring.  Unfortunately for some patients, there have also been several Xarelto adverse event reports filed with the FDA.

Bayer Pharmaceuticals and Johnson & Johnson recently announced their hopes to widen the FDA approval for Xarelto.  The drug manufacturers hope that in the near future Xarelto can be advertised and prescribed to treat acute coronary syndrome and several other serious conditions. As it stands, the anticoagulant medication is expected to bring the manufacturers over $1 billion in revenue this year.

Xarelto Problems

Many patients have suffered serious problems with Xarelto. Problems with Xarelto include uncontrolled bleeding, pulmonary embolism, and several other dangerous side effects.  When patients taking Warfarin suffer from uncontrolled bleeding a patient can be given a dose of vitamin K mixed with fresh or frozen plasma to treat it;  Xarelto currently has no FDA approved antidote.

Surprisingly, according to adverse event reports nearly 44% of all problems with Xarelto involve cases of pulmonary embolism (or a blood clot in the lung) rather than uncontrolled bleeding.

Xarelto Lawsuits

Patients who have suffered from Xarelto problems may be able to bring a Xarelto lawsuit against Bayer Pharmaceuticals and Johnson & Johnson.

Plaintiffs who bring successful lawsuits against the drug manufacturers may receive significant compensation for their pain and suffering and past and future medical bills.  These lawsuits can also help hold pharmaceutical manufacturers accountable for their actions.

Potential plaintiffs who have seen the Xarelto lawsuit commercial and are interested in more information regarding filing a lawsuit should fill out and submit the corresponding ‘Get Help’ form.

Any one can fill out the form to receive more information about bringing a potential lawsuit. Once submitted, Xarelto lawyers can help potential plaintiffs determine whether bringing a Xarelto lawsuit is right for them.
