Target TrimStep “Toning” Shoe Class Action Lawsuit
By Sarah Pierce
According to the Target TrimStep class action lawsuit, Target markets its toning footwear with claims it is designed to “encourage muscle toning in the legs; improve posture; reduce stress on feet, knees and back; and promote a healthy, active lifestyle.”
“In an effort to convince consumers to purchase the shoes, Target has implemented an extensive and comprehensive nationwide marketing campaign, in which Target claims its TrimStep footwear provides, to anyone who wears it, a variety of health benefits ordinary footwear cannot provide,” the Target TrimStep class action lawsuit states. “However, Target’s TrimStep footwear is not proven to provide any of these benefits. To the contrary, Target TrimStep footwear may cause or exacerbate the very type of problems Target claims its footwear provides. Target’s representations are false, misleading, and reasonably likely to deceive the public.”
The allegations in the Target TrimStep class action lawsuit are similar to those made in other class action lawsuits against manufacturers of supposed “toning” footwear, including Sketchers Shape-Ups, New Balance Toning Shoes, and Reebok EasyTone shoes, which recently resulted in a class action lawsuit settlement. (See “Reebok Easytone Class Action Settlement.”)
The Target TrimStep class action lawsuit is brought on behalf of anyone who purchased TrimStep footwear in the United States. It is seeking damages for Class Members who purchased the shoes, as well as an order halting the false advertising of the shoes.

Trim Step shoes are THE BEST shoes I have ever had for work, or going to amusement parks, or any activity that requires me to be on my feet on hard surfaces. I could care less if they do nothing for my body. I suffered a broken ankle falling down my stairs barefoot, and could not wait to put them on after I healed. I look for them for sale in my size and buy them up! I just got a job at Target too, and I never have tired feet! Shame on whoever filed this lawsuit! I speak only for myself, and not as a Target employee. I just found out about this lawsuit today searching for another pair of Trim Step shoes. I sure hope they sell them again! I need them in my life forever!
I have a pair of trim step shoes I love and believe I have less stress and wear on my feat ankles and legs
