Choice Manufacturing & Mepco Finance Vehicle Warranty Class Action Lawsuit

By Kimberly Mirando

Mepco FinanceA federal class action lawsuit claims The Choice Manufacturing Co. and Mepco Finance Corp. sell “illusory” extended vehicle service warranties they refuse to honor.

According to the Choice Manufacturing and Mepco Finance class action lawsuit, the companies “prey on vulnerable consumers who have purchased used vehicles and need to have some assurance that they will not be burdened with large payments if the vehicle encounters certain specific types of operational and structural failures. Once Defendants have extracted their full contract payment from the unassuming and vulnerable consumer, they refuse to pay for the repair or replacement of vehicle parts or other services, even though such services are expressly covered under the contract.”

The Choice Manufacturing warranty class action lawsuit goes on to say that when a consumer “persists in demanding an explanation for Defendants’ failure to cover repairs, replacement or maintenance or parts covered by their [vehicle service contract], Defendant Choice Manufacturing unilaterally terminates the agreement.”

The Choice Manufacturing and Mepco Finance warranty class action lawsuit is brought on behalf of a proposed class of all persons who, while residing in California, entered into vehicle service contracts and/or for engine additive products manufactured and administered by Choice Manufacturing and serviced by Mepco Finance from February 4, 2009 through the present.

It is seeking actual and statutory damages, full restitution and more for alleged violations of California business law, breach of contract and breach of express warranty.

  2. Flor V says:

My truck has been in the shop ( Feb 8, 2021) for over 7 weeks. My claim was denied March 24, 2021. I called Carshield/ Mepco over 45 times. I had to rent 3 cars over that period of time. I need my truck ( with a new transmission) and at least one of 3 car rental agreement paid.
