Details: The Tyson Foods Chicken Class Action Lawsuit Settlement covers Tyson sold in 2007 and 2008 chicken products in the United States to retailers and distributors with a label stating either “Raised Without Antibiotics” or “Raised Without Antibiotics That Impact Antibiotic Resistance in Humans” (these labels are referred to in short-hand form as “RWA”). These products include fresh, frozen, and deli chicken products, Cornish hens, and already-prepared convenience chicken products (e.g., chicken tenders or nuggets).

In 2008, several class actions were filed throughout the United States contending that these representations regarding antibiotics were misleading. The Tyson Chicken Antibiotic Class Action Lawsuits challenged Tyson’s claims that its chickens were raised without antibiotics or raised without antibiotics that impact antibiotic resistance in humans and alleged various theories of recovery, including violation of various states’ unfair and deceptive trade practices acts.

So, who exactly qualifies to submit a claim in the Tyson Foods Chicken Class Action Settlement? Check out the details below:

All persons who purchased Tyson chicken or chicken products sold in the United States as either “Raised Without Antibiotics” and/or “Raised Without Antibiotics That Impact Antibiotic Resistance in Humans” between June 19, 2007 and April 30, 2009 (the “Settlement Class”).

If you meet the above criteria make sure to head over to the Tyson Chicken Antibiotic Class Action Lawsuit Settlement Administrator Website and submit your claim.

TCA Staff Tidbit: Tyson Chicken Raised Without Antibiotics PackageWhat, you mean if I say that something is “Raised Without Antibiotics” I can’t actually inject the eggs or the baby chickens with antibiotics? This seems like a relatively simple case. You can’t inject chickens with drugs/antibiotics and then claim they didn’t have any. Not surprisingly this one settled.

Almost anyone who purchased Tyson chicken products, including chicken nuggets, with the “Raised Without Antibiotics” label is eligible to submit a claim in the Tyson Foods Class Action Lawsuit Settlement. If you bought a Tyson chicken product (or a frozen hen for that matter) that had the “Raised Without Antibiotic” label on it make sure to head over to the Settlement Administrator Website and submit your claim now.
