Claim Forms for the Ford diesel engine class action settlement are now available at the Settlement Administrator website. If you purchased or leased a 2003-2007 Ford vehicle equipped with a 6.0-liter PowerStroke diesel engine, you may be eligible to claim between $50 and $825 from the class action settlement.
The Ford diesel engine settlement resolves dozens of class action lawsuits, consolidated as In re: Navistar 6.0L Diesel Engine Products Liability Litigation, that claim the PowerStroke diesel engines installed in heavy-duty Ford trucks and vans are defective and plagued with problems.
Ford denies the allegations but agreed to reimburse consumers through a class action settlement fund to resolve the litigation.
The settlement covers 2003-2007 non-ambulance Ford vehicles sold or leased in the United States and equipped with a 6.0-liter PowerStroke diesel engine. To be eligible to participate in the class action settlement, your vehicle must have received a repair, replacement, or adjustment during Ford’s 5-year/100,000-mile New Vehicle Limited Warranty to one of the following engine components:
- Exhaust Gas Recirculation (“EGR”) Cooler
- Oil Cooler
- Fuel Injector(s)
- EGR Valve
- Turbocharger
Who’s Eligible
Class Members that submit a valid Claim Form will receive one of the following benefits if the class action lawsuit settlement is approved:
Reimbursement for Post-Warranty Repairs to Certain Engine Components. If the Class Vehicle required repair to the EGR cooler, oil cooler, EGR valve, turbocharger, or a fuel injector after the original five-year/100,000-mile warranty expired — but before six years or 135,000 miles (whichever comes first) — Ford will reimburse the Settlement Class Member repair expenses up to the limits specified below, provided the Class Vehicle previously received a repair to that same component that was covered by Ford’s original warranty.
Potential Award
Up to $825
Reimbursement of Deductibles. If a Settlement Class Member paid a $100 deductible more than once for repairs under the five-year/100,000-mile engine warranty, Ford will reimburse $50 each for the second through fifth deductible paid, up to a limit of $200 for four deductible payments.

I’ve purchased my last Ford product. I got screwed to the max on my F-350 6.0 powersmoke. I’ll never recover a dime of the $9,800 I paid to Ford to “Bullet Proof” a proven defective engine. Thank you Henry Ford.
I have a 2004 with only 123,00 miles. This truck has been pampered. Now all of a sudden my truck is leaking antifreeze. Mechanic is saying it might be the EGR and/or the head gaskets. We are talking thousands of dollars for a diesel engine with very low mileage. Are you kidding me? Why is FORD not standing behind this product?
I guess the attorneys get all the money as usual. I spent over 6k in repairs to my F-250 and the most I can recover is $875? What a crock!
Some one contacted my husband about this very shit. He gave them all the info on his truck, spent thousands and NEVER got a penny. Who did??
Who did your bulletproof install. I just had my egr cooler fail and my extended warranty won’t cover it. Truck is a 2007 Ford F-250 with 81k on it. Ridiculous. That’s way I purchased extended warranty. There (ford dealership)saying to repair it will be somewhere north of 4000 dollars.
Mine blew!!!!! 6.0 sucks! I also had horses in the trailer!!! Ford needs to be held accountable for their actions! Where is the justice for the consumer who spends their hard earned money for Ford trucks that don’t work…..And to think I loved Ford’s…
In January 2017, my 2006 F350 diesel blew the head gasket with only 38,000 miles on it. Only 38,000 miles? Yes, because you could never drive the truck without it overheating. At 5,000 miles, I reported a fluid leak and overheating, 17,000 miles a fluid leak and overheating, 25,000 miles a fluid leak and overheating, 33,000 miles a fluid leak and overheating. Only to be told by Ford service, “There is nothing the matter with the truck.”
At 38,000 miles, blown head gaskets and a repair bill of at least $13,000. Ford service said, “After the $13,000 repair, this truck will run indefinitely.” Well, that was the truck I wanted to buy in the first place. Ya think!
I have spent 11 years broke down on the side of the road sometimes towing either livestock or materials, broke down in the snow, broke down and therefore late to my oldest son’s 21st birthday party, into service or trying to speak with them on the phone, calling tow trucks, without a vehicle to tow livestock even during fire season in California because I purchased a 2006 Ford F-350 diesel.
Although no one at Ford will return my calls, or speak with me on the phone, they do send a letter saying, “Case closed.” And Ford service has assured me numerous times that nothing is wrong with the truck. The 2006 F350 with 38,000 miles is once again in the “shop”, but now with blown head gaskets. The more horrifying thing about all of this is that Ford does nothing. Ford service does nothing. They ignore all information associated with the 2006 F350 diesel.
Yes, something has to be done!
In regards to the Class Action, today, August 5, 2017 is the first I have heard of a Class Action. Did Ford inform me? No. Ford service? No. Ford has once again, done nothing and my Ford F350 sits in the repair shop with a blown engine at 38,000 miles. Something has to be done. Ford has to be responsible and accountable for their product.
My truck falls in the case yet nobody told me anything, ive had to “bulletproof” mine already, i should be entitled to this money as well…not a very good job getting in touch with us
Mine just went this weekend the 2nd turbo went as well as the head gasket I only have 60k miles on my 2006 I agree there should be something ! I was stranded with two horses in a trailer.
i have done the same to mine and have owned the truck 12 years.complete bullet proof and at a cost ofwell into 8,000 $ for all the replacement parts and labor. WHERE IS OUR JUSTICE////?
