Domino’s Pizza LLC has agreed to a $2.5 million class action lawsuit settlement to resolve claims in violated the Fair Credit Reporting Act (FCRA) in its hiring of certain employees. If you applied for employment or were employed by Domino’s after 2009, you may be eligible to claim up to $250 from the class action settlement.
The Domino’s employment settlement will resolve a class action lawsuit (Singleton v. Domino’s Pizza) that alleges Domino’s pre-employment “Background Investigation and Consent Form” and alleged procurement of consumer reports on the basis of that form, violates the FCRA. The class action also alleges Domino’s took adverse employment actions against certain individuals based on information contained in a consumer report without providing those individuals notice and a copy of such report in advance – a direct violation of the FCRA.
Domino’s denies any wrongdoing, but has agreed to establish a $2.5 million class action lawsuit settlement fund to resolve the litigation.
Class Members of the Domino’s FCRA settlement include anyone who, between July 1, 2009 and April 30, 2013, inclusive, who applied for employment or were employed with Domino’s Pizza LLC who had their consumer report pulled on the basis of a consent form containing a liability release. It also includes people who, during the same period, were subjected to an adverse employment action by Domino’s based on a consumer report but who did not receive a pre-adverse action notice and/or copy of their consumer report.
Class Members stand to receive a proportionate share of the class action settlement fund based on a number of factors outlined in the Class Action Settlement Notice. The max amount you can receive from the settlement is $250.
You must submit a valid Claim Form postmarked by August 26, 2013 to receive any money.
A Final Fairness Hearing will be held September 23, 2013.
