Shoe Show Class Action Settlement

A settlement has been reached in a class action lawsuit that alleges Shoe Show Inc. violated the Fair and Accurate Credit Transaction Act (FACTA) by providing receipts to retail customers that included expiration dates and/or more than the last five digits of customer credit and debit card numbers. Consumers who received non-compliant receipts will be eligible to receive a Shoe Show voucher worth up to $35.

Who’s Eligible

Class Members of the Shoe Show FACTA settlement include anyone who made a purchase at any Shoe Show retail stores between June 3, 2008 and Aug. 27, 2013 using a credit or debit card and who received a receipt that included an expiration date and/or more than the last five digits of the payment card number.

Potential Award

A voucher valued at up to $35, redeemable for merchandise at any Shoe Show retail location. Once all $35 vouchers have been distributed to Class Members who submit valid and timely Claim Forms, Shoe Show will distribute a maximum of 375,000 vouchers worth $7 each to select Shoe Show stores. The $7 vouchers will be distributed on a first-come first-served basis.

Proof of Purchase

To receive a $35 voucher, Class Members must submit a completed Claim Form and submit the original non-compliant receipt (or a legible copy of the receipt).

No proof of purchase is required to claim a $7 voucher.

Case Summary

The Shoe Show FACTA class action lawsuit was filed on May 24, 2012 and alleged that customers at Shoe Show retail locations received printed receipts that showed more than the last five digits of their credit or debit card numbers and/or the card’s expiration date in violation of FACTA. Shoe Show denies any wrongdoing but has agreed to settle the class action lawsuit by offering compensation to Class Members. The class action settlement was preliminarily approved on Oct. 25, 2013.
