A settlement has been reached in a class action lawsuit alleging Pre-Employ.com Inc. violated the Fair Credit Reporting Act (FCRA) by failing to maintain strict procedures designed to ensure that adverse public-record information that it reported was complete and up to date.
If you were the subject of one or more consumer reports furnished to a third party by Pre-Employ between Oct. 16, 2011 and Aug. 17, 2015, you may be entitled to payment from the FCRA class action settlement.
Plaintiff April Speers filed the Pre-Employ class action lawsuit on Oct. 16, 2013 over allegations the credit reporting agency violated the FCRA. The parties entered in to mediation in April 2015, which led to the proposed FCRA class action settlement.
Pre-Employ denies any wrongdoing but agreed to settle the FCRA class action lawsuit to avoid the expense and uncertainty of ongoing litigation. The Pre-Employ class action settlement was preliminarily approved on Aug. 17, 2015. If the proposed settlement becomes final, Class Members will automatically receive a cash payment.
If you wish to object to or exclude yourself from the Pre-Employ class action settlement, you must do so no later than Nov. 16, 2015.
Who’s Eligible
Class Members of the FCRA settlement include anyone who, at any time between Oct. 16, 2011 and Aug. 17, 2015, was the subject of one or more consumer reports furnished to a third party by Pre-Employ, and your report was later corrected by Pre-Employ after you disputed that information the report contained was incomplete, not up to date, and/or inaccurate.
If you are not sure if you are a Class Member of the Pre-Employ FCRA settlement, you may contact Class Counsel to find out. Class membership will be determined based on Pre-Employ’s records.
