Update from the President of TCA

Good morning fine Top Class Actions viewers! I hope you had an INCREDIBLE holiday! Most of us are back to work and working hard to find you more lawsuits and settlements to participate in. Most importantly for us our clients are back in the office (though many of the attorneys we work with worked straight through the holidays in one form or another). When you work in the legal field, you can’t just shut down for two or three weeks like some major corporations do. People get hurt, buy wrongly labeled products and have other issues that need legal attention 365 days a year. That’s why it’s not surprising to me when I’m on the phone on Christmas Eve or New Year’s Day with a client. Things can happen quickly and we need to get in front of events or we’ll get lost in the dust created by a flurry of new lawsuits.

One of the hard things about being an entrepreneur, a father and a husband is making sure to take the time my family expects and needs. My 4-year-old doesn’t understand why Daddy can’t play with her when she’s off from school. Aubrey just gets disappointed when Daddy’s on the phone in his office and can’t help her jump on the bed. It’s hard not for ME to get frustrated when they start talking to me when I’m on the phone and I’m in the middle of figuring out how to connect an attorney with a few million affected potential plaintiffs. I always try to take a step back, smile at my daughter, ask my client to hold on, and let her know I’ll play “in just a few minutes.” Sometimes that turns into 30 minutes or an hour but I DO stop to play. My clients know I have kids, and most of them do as well, so they’re understanding (and awesome) when the call gets cut into with a loud “DADDY, PLEASE HELP ME JUMP NOW!!!” I then try to get things wrapped up so I can help my girls jump, jump, JUMP on the bed! Super fun and as they’re getting bigger and bigger a good arm workout for me! Hah! OK, that’s what’s happened in the office and the Hardy home. Here are some more lawsuit and settlement updates:

That’s all for now! Make it a GREAT week!

Warm Regards,

Scott Hardy

President
