Public Storage has agreed to settle a class action lawsuit alleging it deceived some of its tenants by misrepresenting that it would send the premiums collected by the sale of self-storage insurance to an independent insurance company. If you rented storage units from Public Storage and purchased a self-insurance policy, you may be eligible for benefits from the class action settlement.
Risperdal Wrongful Death Trial Ends With $5.6M Verdict – A California jury delivered a $5.6 million verdict against Janssen Pharmaceuticals, a Johnson & Johnson subsidiary, in a Risperdal wrongful death lawsuit. According to the Risperdal lawsuit, the victim was a participant in a clinical study of the anti-psychotic drug, and the company allegedly ignored his heart abnormalities during the trial. If you or your son took Risperdal between the ages of 10 and 18 years old and suffered severe side effects, you may be entitled to compensation. Learn more now.
Pre-Employ.com Inc. FCRA Class Action Settlement – A settlement has been reached in a class action lawsuit alleging Pre-Employ.com Inc. violated the Fair Credit Reporting Act (FCRA) by failing to maintain strict procedures to ensure that adverse public-record information that it reported was complete and up to date. If you were subject to one or more consumer reports furnished to a third party by Pre-Employ, you may be entitled to payment from the FCRA class action settlement.
Widower Sues Morcellator Makers Over Wife’s Cancer Death – A man whose wife died of cancer after uterine fibroid surgery filed a morcellation cancer lawsuit against several manufacturers of power morcellators, alleging their device caused the spread and progression of his wife’s cancer. If you or a loved one were diagnosed with cancer in the uterus, pelvis or abdomen within two years of undergoing surgery to remove the uterus, ovaries, fallopian tubes or fibroids, you may have a legal claim.
California Twitter Privacy Class Action Settlement – Twitter Inc. has agreed to settle a class action lawsuit alleging it violated users’ rights by disclosing the full names provided by users without warning, by sharing users’ public Tweets and public profile information without providing adequate disclosure, and by failing to adequately inform Twitter users that their Tweets would be made public by default. If you used Twitter before November 2009, your rights may be affected by the class action settlement.
Xarelto Lawsuit: Drug Caused Severe Bleed Within One Week – A Xarelto lawsuit claims that the anticoagulant caused a life-threatening bleeding event within one week of use. If you or a loved one took Xarelto (rivaroxaban) and suffered injuries such as uncontrollable internal bleeding, gastrointestinal bleeding, hemorrhaging, deep vein thrombosis or pulmonary embolism, you may have a legal claim. Detroit Incinerator Air Pollution Class Action Settlement – Detroit Renewable Power LLC and Michigan Waste Energy Inc. have agreed to settle a class action lawsuit filed over the alleged emission of pollutants, air contaminants and noxious odors from one of their facilities. Investigation Raises Concerns Over Bard IVC Filter – An investigation has raised questions about the way medical device manufacturer C.R. Bard handled reports of IVC filter complications. The reports are related to the company’s Recovery IVC filter, a device used to trap blood clots and prevent them from reaching the heart or lungs. If you or a loved one were injured by IVC filter complications, you may be eligible to pursue compensation from the device’s manufacturer.
HomeServe Service Plan Class Action Lawsuit Settlement – United Water New Jersey Inc. and HomeServe USA Corp. have agreed to settle a class action lawsuit alleging they sold multi-unit residents a service plan even though they were ineligible for coverage. If you purchased a service plan offered by United Water or HomeServe for a multi-unit dwelling and did not receive service or a refund, you may be eligible for benefits from the class action settlement.
Benicar Lawsuit Claims Drug Caused Abnormal Weight Loss – A Benicar lawsuit was added to the growing multidistrict litigation against manufacturers Daiichi Sankyo and Forest Pharmaceuticals centralized in New Jersey. The plaintiff claims to have suffered from nausea, abdominal pain, vomiting, abnormal weight loss and diarrhea after taking Benicar (Olmesartan). Update from the President of TCA
Good morning everyone! I hope you enjoyed your Veterans Day last week and thanked a Veteran for their service to our country. It’s always cool to see my friends on Facebook update their profile pictures to show themselves in uniform. I didn’t know I had so many friends who served! On Veterans Day I always call and thank my favorite Veteran, my father, who served in the Army in Vietnam.
As a child, at least once a year, my Dad would pull out his Army trunk, load up the slide projector, and we would all gather around the projection screen as he showed us pictures of that beautiful country, Vietnam. When I was younger I never understood the danger my Dad was in. I just knew that he was in the war and made a lifelong friend there (Big Al). I also knew that he and his Corps of Engineers brothers and sisters helped a lot of people over there with the roads they built. I never truly understood the Vietnam War until I went to the Vietnam Memorial in Washington, D.C. There I was deeply moved by seeing all of the names of those who didn’t make it back and made the ultimate sacrifice for freedom in our world. I was darn lucky my Dad’s name wasn’t on that list and that I’m around because of that. So, thank you Dad for serving our country! Thank you Veterans for your service! We appreciate YOU!
